Day 47 - May 2, 2008
Today was as banner day. Frank walked the Angel's Landing Trail. This is an extremely strenuous 5 mile hike which rises in elevation 1,488'. Also at many places the trail is extremely narrow - so you have the side of the mountain on one side and an 1,000' drop on the other. It is so treacherous that they have put chains up in many places to keep you from falling off the mountain. This was quite an accomplishment and is a testament to Frank's physical ability and stamina. You Go PaPa!!!
I choose the easy Riverside walk and a Ranger program. No comparison to Frank's accomplishment.
Our parting hike was the moderate Canyon Overlook Loop. Again I must say, Zion is an incredibly awesome place and I hope each of you have the opportunity to visit it.
Tomorrow we are off to Page, Arizona to continue the "Big Adventure".

Canyon Overlook Hike

Check out this part of the trail - no room to walk so they built these planks over the canyon to hike over. Just a little bit scary.

I would definitely be scared on that bridge and especially to hold onto chains on a moutain. Way to go Dad! We are certainly proud of you!

I think your beard looks great and you would win the Ernest Hemingway look a like contest this year. You look great!

Love,
Lindsey
